{ New York via Instagram }

 New York was, to say the least, amazing. Oh how I wish I would have had more time there. I can't wait to go back someday! I'd love to visit with my mom- oh the fun we'd have! Our hotel was a few blocks from Bryant Park. This is the first view I saw coming out of the subway station on my very first day. *sigh* I arrived around 4 after navigating my way via underground transportation (aka the subway) from the airport. I honestly loved riding the subway...most of the time. People were, for the most part, very helpful and friendly when we asked questions about being on the right train.
If only I hadn't lost my metro card 2 hours after buying a week pass...actually I'm pretty sure it got pick pocketed (along with my hotel key card, which also happened to be the same gold color as an American Express card) but that's a whole other story...
 Andrew met me at the subway and we walked to our hotel. We stayed at The Mansfield, which was a lovely, quaint, historical boutique hotel. The rooms are typical New York tiny (as are the bathrooms), but it wasn't too tight and felt nice as cozy.
We had reservations at The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park, and we arrived early enough to walk around before it got too dark. I LOVE Central Park. I couldn't get over how romantic and beautiful it was! I could spend an entire afternoon there. Someday I will. ;)
 After dinner, we made our way back down to our hotel and got off at Times Square. Talk about crazy hectic! It was exciting to see but a little overwhelming.
 The naked cowboy totally posed for me.
 The next day, I decided to map out my route and navigated my map.
 I stopped at Magnolia Bakery. The cupcakes were...meh- so, so. The Sweet Tooth Fairy in Draper has far better cupcakes, however Magnolia's banana pudding was to die for! Andrew's new favorite by far!
 I shopped while Andrew worked....
 And went to the MoMa. I'm still not sure how I feel about modern art....
When Andrew got off work, we went here. Upon seeing this, we both looked at each other and had tears in our eyes. To think so many died here in such an awful act of terrorism was overwhelming. The memorial was beautiful and a must see for anyone visiting New York.
 We walked around SoHo in the pouring rain (not quite as romantic as it sounds). In another life, I'll live in SoHo during my single years. LOVED it!
 We saw Phantom of the Opera, which was awesome- one of my favorite plays!
 And finally, ate at Serendipity which was delicious and totally worth the wait!

I have way more pictures to post and stories to tell! Consider this a little amuse bouche.

I knew you would love it :) Glad you had fun. It's my favorite city EVER! It's like a whole other world isn't it? SOHO is my favorite too....I haven't been since they finished the 9/11 memorial but the first time I went they were still cleaning up the destruction and it was UNREAL and heartbreaking. I can't wait to hear more about your trip. Welcome home :)
